How can I fundraise for St. Baldrick’s on Instagram?

Instagram offers three ways for people to fundraise to benefit St. Baldrick’s:

  1. Add a Donate button linked to your Instagram story (All donations will be credited to the General Fund)
  2. Start an Instagram Fundraiser (All donations will be credited to the General Fund)

Can the money I raise through Instagram be credited to my participation page?

All donations raised on Instagram will go directly to the St. Baldrick’s general fund and will not automatically be allocated to your participant page. If you would like to link the funds raised to your St. Baldrick’s participation page, please make sure you use a unique fundraiser title, and reach out to donationquestions.org. Donations moved may take up to 4 weeks to be reflected on your participant page.

How much can people donate?

People can donate between $5 to $2,500 per contribution. They can also donate multiple times to a fundraiser on Instagram.

How can I make sure my fundraiser continues even after my story expires?

If you created an Instagram Fundraiser the default time frame is 30 days. However, you are able to adjust the time frame and add it to your story until the fundraiser ends.

How will I know if people have donated to my fundraiser?

Your story will show your running total as well as your fundraiser page on Instagram. Don't forget to engage your donors and say thanks - you can even respond with a story showing your progress.

How does St. Baldrick’s Foundation receive donations made on Instagram?

Instagram fundraiser donations are deposited by PayPal Giving fund to the St. Baldrick's Foundation on or around every 45 days.

Can I link my Facebook and Instagram fundraisers to show my running total?

You are not able to link them but you can share your Facebook fundraiser as a story to your Instagram profile and any donations raised through the Instagram story will reflect on your Facebook Fundraiser. How do I request a refund for my Instagram donation?

You will need to contact the payment processor PayPal Giving for assistance. You can request a refund through the PayPal Giving Fund.
