Last Modified: 11/13/2024
This privacy statement applies to the St. Baldrick's Foundation (“Saint Baldrick’s”) with respect to the privacy of all of our constituents, including our online and offline visitors and donors in the United States. Please click here for our EU/UK GDPR Privacy Notice.
St. Baldrick's respects your privacy and wants you to know how we collect and use your information. To protect your privacy, St. Baldrick’s does not sell, rent, exchange or otherwise share personal information about donors, shaves, or other participants with any other organization or individual, except as described below.
What Personal Information We Collect, How, and Why.
This site collects contact information when you donate or register, which may include personal information such as name, address, telephone number, birthdate, e-mail address, and credit card number, in order to register your participation, process your donation, and/or provide a receipt. We may also receive data about you from third parties. We may use the information you provide us to send you communications about event results, how proceeds are being distributed, and other St. Baldrick's related promotions.
With Whom We Share It.
We do not share your personal information with affiliated organizations or third-party affiliates, and we prohibit the sharing of personal information for marketing outside of St. Baldrick’s Foundation purposes. We may connect personally identifiable information with data processors that provide operational services or otherwise assist St. Baldrick’s in providing you with support and resources, such as website hosting, data analytics, email delivery, marketing, and other services. In addition, we may share limited personal information, such as contact information, with some volunteers who use it as part of their efforts to organize or assist with St. Baldrick’s events. Volunteers entrusted with personal information agree to keep that information private. Even then, our volunteers only receive limited information, such as contact information.
For your security, we use a trusted data processor, not volunteers, to handle your personal financial information.
Your Interactions with this Web Site.
As you browse stbaldricks.org, trusted data processors may place anonymous cookies (small text files that do not damage a visitor's system or files) or similar technologies on your computer in order to better understand how you use the site and ways that we can improve your experience to tailor more relevant content to you. Most browsers will allow a user to accept or deny cookies. If a visitor rejects our cookies, they may still use our site, though some sections may be inaccessible. We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
St. Baldrick's may periodically perform statistical analyses of aggregate user behavior and characteristics in order to measure interest in and use of various areas on our website and to use such information to improve our website's ability to serve you better. We don’t share personally identifiable information collected in these surveys, and we limit others from doing so as well.
Data Security and Retention.
We care about the security of your transactions and apply industry-standard practices and technologies to safeguard your credit card information. We also employ other best practice security protocols to protect your personally identifiable information from unauthorized access by users inside and outside the organization. Security best practices include encrypting all web traffic, testing for security vulnerabilities, correcting all critical and/or high vulnerabilities, and securing St. Baldrick’s websites and applications with Web Application Firewalls and Intrusion Protection Systems.
We only keep your information for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was processed and/or as permitted by law.
Notices.
We do not knowingly collect information about children under 13 years old without parental consent. If you believe a child has submitted his/her personal information to us without parental consent, please let us know and we will promptly delete it.
This privacy policy only applies to St. Baldrick’s. Any links to third-party websites are governed by the privacy policies of those third party websites. You should review those websites’ privacy policies for additional information on how they use, collect, and share your data, as well as what other rights you may have. Our Web site’s linking to another site should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the website, its contents, or its privacy and cybersecurity practices.
We may, from time-to-time, update our Privacy Policy. When we do, we will post those changes to this site. Any changes are effective upon posting, unless indicated otherwise. We will consider your continued use of the site as expressing your acceptance of those changes.
