Sam was diagnosed with DIPG at the age of two. In his short life, he taught his parents about the reality of unconditional love and the path to happiness. We raise money to fund innovative pediatric cancer research in his honor.
$21,920
Total Funds Raised

Welcome to the With Purpose Hero Fund page! In 2021, we transitioned the organization our son, Sam, inspired into a partnership with St. Baldrick’s. In the six years we operated as an independent organization, we accomplished so much! We raised more than $1,000,000! We educated and activated thousands of people across the country. We shared a story that gave people hope. We broke a world record. We made an impact on a really big, really tough problem. We contributed to research and legislation that will continue to positively impact kids with cancer.

Through this partnership we will still get to invest in the most innovative and promising pediatric cancer research initiatives. In addition, we are joining some of the most successful nonprofit organizations in the world to make a difference for kids with cancer.  And we are letting Sam’s light continue to shine in this world.

Thank you all for your love and support.  Our family would not be where we are today without you.

With so much love and gratitude,
Erin Benson (Sam’s mom)

Where does the money go?

Donations given to the With Purpose Fund go directly to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fund lifesaving childhood cancer research around the world. The Foundation is guided by a Scientific Advisory Committee, comprised of leading experts in the childhood cancer community, to ensure that every dollar makes the greatest impact for kids with cancer.
