"Just keep swimming."
That was Georgia's motto throughout 28 months of treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). She was diagnosed the day after her 1oth birthday, and while enduring countless infusions, transfusions, pills, and spinal taps, she just kept swimming - literally and figuratively - until she finally danced across the finish line, victorious.
Today, we are in awe of the bright and beautiful young lady we have in our midst. And we are grateful beyond measure. But even though Georgia has finished her journey as a patient and moved on as a survivor, our family's commitment to maintaining her whole health and advocating for other children in the fight continues.
We need people to know that kids get cancer too, and that funding for research is critical to their survival. So in honor of Georgia's 5th year past diagnosis, we launched the Georgia and the Peachy Keens Hero Fund in 2015. Through this fund, we want to raise awareness, hope, and research dollars, and help to reach the ultimate goal, a cure for all childhood cancers – every kid, every time. Taking a cue from our girl, we'll just keep swimming 'til we get there, and we'd love for you to join us.

Donations made to the Georgia and the Peachy Keens Hero Fund have funded a Supportive Care Research Grant for Naomi Winick M.D. and a St. Baldrick's Fellow Grant for Corinne Summers M.D.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is guided by a Scientific Advisory Committee, comprised of leading experts in the childhood cancer community, to ensure that every dollar makes the greatest impact for kids with cancer.
These people make us smile - they’re the doers and money-raisers on behalf of Georgia and the Peachy Keens. They’re shaving their heads, hosting events, starting fundraisers and more to make childhood cancer research possible.
Start your own St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event to raise money on behalf of our Hero Fund! You’ll be paired with a staff member who will walk you through every step of the process, and you’ll have fun knowing you’re doing a great thing for kids with cancer.
