"Battle Osteosarcoma’s support has been transformative for my lab. It has allowed us to investigate osteosarcoma’s genomic mutations that are driving metastatic disease and to identify new drug combinations for osteosarcoma. Battle Osteosarcoma's support has led to additional grant funding, allowing us to share models globally and establish a collaboration with other scientists. I firmly believe it will make a huge difference for kids dealing with this illness by helping us move faster to find cures. I am grateful for their partnership." Battle Osteosarcoma is a community-based organization that partners with nonprofit organizations with the mission of supporting osteosarcoma research. Founded in 2019, Battle Osteosarcoma is helping to blaze new trails in the fight against this devastating disease, which has not seen advancements in 40 years.

After three children in our community were diagnosed with bone cancer, we recognized the desperate need for osteosarcoma research and formed Battle Osteosarcoma. Ultimately, our battles with osteosarcoma resulted in unimaginable tragedy and heartbreak, losing Charlotte, Dylan, and Tyler to metastatic osteosarcoma. Yet their memories give us the resolve to make headway against osteosarcoma. Battle Osteosarcoma’s goal is to change the narrative and improve overall survival rates by investing in research. We remain committed to developing better options and a brighter future for osteosarcoma patients and their families.

We are proud to partner with St. Baldrick’s Foundation to support talented researchers focused on osteosarcoma. Battle Osteosarcoma has hosted several events to support our mission, including Cocktails for a Cure, Battle for a Cure Fortnite Tournament, Share the Love Book Club, Hillsborough Battles Osteo 5K Walk and Gold Bows for Childhood Cancer Awareness. In 2025 we will host Concert for a Cure. Details coming soon!

Your generous support brings hope and healing to families battling this disease.

Where does the money go?

Donations to Battle Osteosarcoma have supported several research labs and scientists, including Dr. Alejandro Sweet-Cordero and Dr. Betsy Young at UCSF, Dr. Mitchell Cairo at New York Medical College, and Dr. Patrick Grohar at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Battle Osteosarcoma collaborated with several pediatric cancer funding organizations, including St. Baldrick’s Foundation, to fund the HOPE super grant and the FOT super grant, both focused on osteosarcoma research.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is guided by a Scientific Advisory Committee, comprised of leading experts in the childhood cancer community to ensure that every dollar makes the greatest impact for kids with cancer.
