Team Schmolivbarr is back and ready to take on St. Baldrick's 2023!
If you want to join our team as a shavee or volunteer - please do! We have a lot of fun raising money to support these kids who are fighting so hard!
Over the years, we have been part of the lives of families who have had children fight and beat cancer, but we have also, sadly, been part of those who gained their angel wings at a way too young age.
We continue to band together and fundraise to make a difference. We started this team in honor of our niece, Emily Barr, who is a survivor. Emily was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor at age 2. She is now a graduate of Loyola Univesity and working as an adult oncology nurse at UNC Chapel Hill Cancer Hospital, pursuing her dual MSN/NP degree and will graduate in May 2023. She is looking forward to her pediatric rotation this spring.
We remember our angel, Landen Rush. Diagnosed with Stage 4 Anaplastic Medulloblastoma (brain cancer) at age 4, and fought like you wouldn't believe! With the support of his amazing mom, Deon, Landen tackled his treatment with his beautiful smile and amazing wit. But in the end, the cancer took over his little body and he took his last earthly breath on June 29, 2012. Every single day Landen's loved ones are reminded of him and what an impact his life made on ours.
We honor Zac Gossage, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2013 and is gratefully now still cancer free!
There have been other honored kids that have touched the lives of the members of our Team, and sadly, there will be more. Our goal is to continue to help fight for a cure until we no longer need to have a St. Baldricks, but until then, please support our team with a donation to save lives. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research, but donations have been down sharply since the pandemic.
Let’s make sure kids know we have their back.
Please give generously, to give kids with cancer the long, healthy lives they deserve. Thank you!
