Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

National Partner

Team Chance

Team Chance was created in memory of my son Chance Cosgrove. Chance participated in St. Baldrick’s in 2008 and 2009 as a shavee. I remember watching him shave in 2008 and feeling an immeasurable sense of pride and at the same time fear. Wondering if he’d get teased at school or picked on because of his newly shaved head. Chance didn’t care. He was shaving in solidarity with all the kids who didn’t have a choice and wanted to make a difference. Tragically, Chance lost his life in an accident while we were on vacation the summer of 2009. Looking for ways to keep his memory and spirit alive I signed up for St. Baldrick’s and created Team Chance. Team Chance is a big support group for my family and the families of kids who are fighting cancer, in remission, or who have lost a loved one. We’ll continue to fight until a cure is found. Last year we raised more than $57,000 dollars for childhood cancer research. Please join our team and help us reach our goal of $100,000. I know this is a big number, but the power of many is strong and we can do it! Your Captain, Gregg Cosgrove “Chance. Always in our hearts.”
