February 2017 - Once again, our generous donors and Friends of Georgia answered our call for research funding last year and brought our Hero Fund total to over $140,000! And because we know firsthand how critical that research is to improving treatments and finding cures, we're back at it with the St. Baldrick's Foundation for our eighth consecutive year! This one in particular is the most special year because we're celebrating the milestone of all milestones ... On April 29th, Georgia will be FIVE YEARS OFF TREATMENT  and Officially CANCER-FREE!!! And to mark that incredible occasion, our girl is doing what she always does - thinking of others - and shaving her head! She's been waiting for the perfect time to be brave and go bald (by choice this go-round!), and we can't think of a more perfect time than now. You can support her with your generous donations here and your words of encouragement on the blog. We are so proud of her every day, but this act of giving really takes the cake. How blessed and lucky we are! Georgia continues to excel at just about everything she touches - schoolwork, art, writing, and swimming. She has begun the college search in earnest and will take the SAT and ACT this spring. It's hard to believe she has just one more year before The Big Jump, but she has worked so hard and deserves to follow her dreams, wherever they may take her. We desperately want all families with kids fighting cancer to be able to dream those big dreams, too - and we're doing everything we can to make the biggest one come true. Please join us in our efforts to conquer childhood cancer - donate, shave, or host your own event. We can do this!
