We have answered the call to be heroes! We've teamed up to have our heads shaved – to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

This year we have the honor of supporting Carter! Carter was diagnosed with Pre-B ALL (Acute lymphoblastic leukemia) on November 1, 2010. He was taken to Children's Hospital on a Friday night and told by early Saturday morning he had some type of cancer. By early Monday morning, the oncologists had confirmed it was Precursor B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and Carter was taken for surgery that day to have his port placed and he started a chemotherapy regimen the very next day. Carter was 3 1/2 when he was diagnosed. His first year of treatment was spent in isolation due to being neutropenic nearly the entire time. Carter still takes daily chemo at home. His proposed finish date is March 8th, 2014.
Carter's mom says: "I can tell you at this point, he has responded wonderfully well to his treatment. We continue to give God all of the glory for Carter doing as well as he has so far. Carter is 110% boy. Loves riding horses, working cows and going hunting. And might I add he is a super grasshopper catcher :). Thru this journey, Carter continues to amaze us daily. He is very resilient. Cancer does not define him in any way. He is all smiles and stronger than any of us."
