For the longest time, I have been known for my hair. It has become my signature... but the unfortunate truth is that countless children are being robbed of their signatures each and every day as they battle cancer. This has to stop. This year, I have signed up to shave my head in honor of those people I love who are fighting cancers of all kinds and those loved ones I have lost to this terrible illness. But, as with all things Jason Elliott, there is a catch. Many people do not want me to shave my head. So I found a way to make it fair: SAVE IT or SHAVE IT! When you donate, please leave a comment to specify whether you are donating to SAVE my hair or to SHAVE my hair. The morning of the event, whichever group has donated more money wins! So, if I raise more money to SHAVE it, bye-bye hair! If I raise more money to SAVE it, it stays! The best part? 100% of the money, every single penny, goes towards this incredible organization and the prevention and treatment of childhood cancer. Human hair wigs for cancer patients can cost anywhere from $600-$12,000. Keeping this in mind, I have set a goal of $2,000 - the equivalent of two nice, human hair wigs. As you so lovingly donate, imagine what it would be like to be robbed of your very own signature, your locks, your mane... The best part, though, is that your donation does not go towards a wig, a temporal fix for one or two children... it goes towards a permanent end to childhood cancer, ensuring no child is ever robbed of her flowing hair. It promises every child fighting this disease his every own signature. It says, "I am going to help make a difference. I am going to end childhood cancer." So, now, you tell me.... SAVE IT or SHAVE IT???? *All donations made without a comment specifying whether it is to SAVE IT or SHAVE IT, will be put into the SHAVE IT collection.
