Ethan Vanden Plas, a 6th grader at Red Smith is shaving his head in support of Childhood cancer research. Ethan had a grandfather who had kidney cancer as well as an aunt with breast cancer, however both have been in treament and are now "cured". In addition Renae Vanden Plas, a third grader at Wequiock, as well as two seniors from Preble High School, Kati Long, and Alex Jandrin will be cutting their hair for Locks of Love. Even though the overall goal is to raise $1,000 for childhood cancer research, we have added a twist to it. We wanted to see Augustine Santillan bald. We spent many hours trying to convince him to shave his head just for the sake of it, but he wouldn't. However he has agreed to shave his head, but only under one condition: we have raise $1,000 towards this amazing cause. CAN WE DO IT? OF COURSE WE CAN!! Please help us reach our goal of $1,000 dollars. Not only so that Gus will be bald, but that one day there may be an end to of all of the children being affected by cancer.
