Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

National Partner

BRUCE ROMEO FIRE DEPARTMENT

You heard it right - We are shaving our heads in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!

In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.

To make a donation, click on "Make A Donation" or donate by mail or phone.
Thank you for your support! THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WE DO THIS. A LITTLE STORY ABOUT THE REAL HEROES!!!!
Adam Nyquist is a SURVIVOR! He was only nine months old when he was diagnosed with ALL - Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Upon being admitted to the hospital to begin treatment, we researched his disease and prayed. We found that ALL had an ever increasing survival rate, which gave us comfort and hope. Although he went through some difficult times due to side effects from intense chemotherapy treatment, we focused on positive outcomes and counted our blessings every day. Within two months of treatment, Adam was in remission. That was six years ago!

Adam is currently involved in a follow up care program to monitor long term side effects. During the past six years, Adam has been experiencing normal growth and development. He’s quite a remarkable son with only a few scares to prove his toughness to his buddies and someday to the girls.

Adam, Daddy, and Grandpa are ready for the “shave” at St. Baldricks. Adam’s sister, Sarah, is only an inch away from her second donation of hair to “Locks-of-Love.”

Our enlightening story could not be told without family and friends support, the research that drives advancement in treatment, the medical knowledge and compassion of Adam’s care givers and most of all God’s healing hands.

We are so grateful for the work that the St. Baldricks Foundation does for childhood cancer research. Our family is so blessed to have Adam with us to prove that RESEARCH DOES SAVE CHILDRENS LIVES.
