Team: This is a fundraiser Miller Children's Hospital and Long Beach Memorial Medical Center participate in for kids with cancer. The event is called St. Baldrick's Foundation which raises funds and awareness to cure kids' cancer by supporting cancer research and fellowship. The volunteers shave their heads in solidarity of children with cancer, while requesting donations of support from friends and family. I think it would be good cause to support with the Hospital and get a hair cut at the same time. A personal note: A close friend of mine, oldest son Samuel, was diagnosed with a brain tumor over a year ago. This past Monday, February 25, 2008, he lost his battle with the tumor and passed away in his sleep. He was only 5 years old. So, please donate if you can or become shavee to aid in the great cause for solidarity for children and the parents who have to deal with this horrible illness. The event is taking place on March 14th in Long Beach at Cubberly School Location: Cubberly School - Long Beach 3200 Monogram Avenue Long Beach, California 90808 (562) 420-8810 Fax (562) 420-7821
