Greetings everyone, it's that time of year once again. Myself, a few fellow employees, and friends are raising money to help find a cure for childhood cancer's and to help families with medical costs who have children who have been diagnosed with cancer. We have created a team with the St. Baldricks organization to help with this endeavor. As a team we are trying to raise donations to meet our team goal, but we are also participating in one of St. Baldricks many events in which we shave our heads in solidarity for children who have been diagnosed.
This is a cause very near and dear to my heart as a good friend of my family's daughter was diagnosed with Wilms Stage IV Tumor a week before her 8th birthday; As a result, she has had her kidney removed but not her sass-a-frass attitude! She has been Cancer free since the operation! She has recently turned 18 and Graduated high school, starting College soon, and is still going strong!
Our team goal this year is set at $500.00, each member of the team has their own individual goal that will help fund the team goal. All money raised goes to the St. Baldricks organization to help fund research for cures to childhood cancers as well as help those families in need of aid. All hair that is shaven will either be used in making a wig for a child through the Wigs for Kids Foundation or be used in oil spill cleanups as the standards for wig hair are pretty high. No hair is unused!
Can you think of anything more important than saving the life of a child?
And what’s even better than shaving your head to give hope to kids fighting cancer? Coming together as a team to raise more money!
This is the 25th year of St. Baldrick’s raising funds for research to find cures for kids with cancer. And while great progress has been made, 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer in the U.S. won’t survive.
Please join us or support our team with a donation that will fuel critical discoveries, develop new treatments, and save lives.
Together, we can accelerate the next 25 years of cures for kids with cancer!
