The Jackson Football Team is raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So we decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
WHAT IS A LIFT-A-THON: This charitable fundraiser involves our student-athletes showcasing all of the hard work put into their off-season workouts. The players will set a testing goal for Bench, Squat, and Power Clean. They will receive donations that will equal or exceed the total testing number.
PURPOSE: All donations made will go to St. Baldrick's Foundation; Childhood Cancer Research. This provides our student-athletes with an opportunity to support a charitable cause and demonstrate the #WeNotMe mentality.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Student-athletes will generate a potential total testing number. The number will be the totals of their bench, squat, and power clean test. There will be a dedicated testing day for each lift. This will promote opportunities for our student-athletes to support each other's accomplishments for a great cause.
PLEDGES: There are two ways for a sponsor to donate: Flat vs Per Pound Donation
1) Flat Donation - The sponsor may want to just give you $25, $50 or $100 no matter how much weight is lifted.
2) Per Pound - The amount of the pledge will be the result of the player's combined lift scores. i.e.: a $.10 per pound donation with a combined lift score of 450 pounds would be a $45.00 donation (.10 x 450).
ST. BALDRICKS: St. Baldrick’s is a charity that funds grants for childhood cancer research through head-shaving events and other fundraisers across the globe, so kids with cancer can live long, healthy lives.
Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
