Greetings EVERYONE!!!
We hope this message finds everyone enjoying the wonders of Winter and basking in the Blessings of good health, prosperity, and a general sense of peace....things that are precious to us all but often in short supply to many.
In case you hadn't guessed by now, many of us at our little elementary school in Lawrenceville, are shaving our heads again, along with many other brave souls on March 9th as both a sympathetic gesture for kids who have some form of pediatric cancer as well as offering a visible means of raising awareness for the much needed and difference making funds dedicated to childhood cancer research!
This will be our 11th year sheering it all off , all for this very laudable cause. The event at Amalfi's in Lawrenceville has been hugely successful for the cause over the past 12 years. In the years LES has been associatted with St. Baldricks, over $187,000 dollars in donations have been raised. Add that to the Lawrenceville community at large, two years ago, our "little" event finally cracked the $1,000,000 mark and drew the attention as being the largest NJ event of its kind as well as being in the top 20 nation wide!! No small feat indeed!!!
We truly do need your help today or in the very near future.
Here are some of the startling facts....Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I've decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. And there have been some miraculous cures found through research and while the need is great, the desire of so many to cure this awful disease is greater. As is the goodness and generosity of others both friends, family members, and even strangers. Please help in this battle to help our kids. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
We'd like to dedicate our efforts again to Ethan Toohey, a very brave local teen who lost his battle with pediatric cancer several years ago. Mr. Berry meet his mother Diana this past year at a St. Baldricks event at CHOP this past Spring. Together, along with other invitees, helped to donate a check for nearly $3 million dollars to CHOP and the ongoing cutting edge research projects right here in our area!! He said it was very bittersweet to meet her and hear about her child with cancer from a mothers perspective even when you've lost your beloved child to that cancer. She was an inspiration to me.
There are so many other cancer stories out there, involving infants, Kindergarten aged kids like those in my class, middle school kids and even High School children. Cancer doesn't discriminate. It tries to take anyone it can. Perhaps you know a young person who is in such a fight. Its a fight we have to win and we will win it with your support, both financial and spiritual.

We're all in this together!!! They've really streamlined the process.!!! I've set a lofty goal for myself this year but with your help and encouragement as well as your generosity, I will most definitely succeed in meeting it!!!! For those that have donated in the past, many thanks for your support, kindness, and overwhelming generosity. It continues to make a real difference!!!
I'll wrap this up by saying....from my family to yours, many thanks again, for the help, support, and love during this 2019 Saint Baldricks fundraising campaign.
And may the Lord continue to Bless you and keep you
and your own families and friends cancer free and out
of harm's way.
May Peace and Love be with us all...
