Tanner Thomas Jensen

(taken from his obituary and St. Baldrick’s website)

Tanner Thomas Jensen was born on September 4, 2004, and passed on October 14, 2008. Tanner was an amazing warrior. In his four short years with us, he touched the lives of everyone he met. While with us, Tanner laughed and loved and learned. He ran and climbed and swam and explored this world with the zeal of someone who was without bounds. Although cancer first took his eyes, he perceived the world around him with unusual clarity using all of his senses. Above all, he saw us and our world with his heart. He touched the lives of everyone he met, and while cancer first took his eyes, he said he “wanted to show us all the things we have never seen.” He loved music, dancing, singing, and laughing. He particularly loved to tell jokes - his favorite line, much to the chagrin of his beloved teachers, was "What's up, Monkey Butt?" His memory continues to encourage us to do great work in the interest of assisting families of Northern Nevada stricken by childhood cancer. Tanner's memory will further be served by each of us looking into our communities and giving of ourselves to those in any sort of need. As Tanner would say, “thanks for the good vibes and love.”

Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
