There is a big group of TransRe employees, friends and family shaving this year at Jim Brady's. This year's event is very dear to us. We are shaving in memory of Adam Rosowicz. Adam was a very talented actuary, but more importantly an amazing father, husband and friend. As some of you are aware, Adam passed away in June after complications from a surgery. Adam courageously battled cancer for over 10 years. He endured over 17 surgeries, was at one point a candidate for a liver transplant and tried countless different types of chemotherapy treatments to try to keep the cancer at bay for as long as possible. And he did all of this with a sense of humor and positive attitude which most healthy people don’t have. He was kind and caring, always asking how you or your family were doing. He was an amazing and very proud father to 3 wonderful boys and a loving husband to his wife, Chrissie. Anyone who has worked with Adam has a funny or uplifting story about him. He volunteered as a St Baldrick’s shavee giving a very emotional speech. Since his diagnosis his boys and their grammar school have had a huge St. Baldrick’s fundraiser every year where young boys and girls shave their heads and have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer research. He gave great parenting advice, coached basketball (despite his height), basically built half his house and was the guy to ask what kind of snow blower you should buy. He is someone to admire and should be an example to us all at what it means to look at the bright side of things. At the end of the day he was one of the really good ones and he will be dearly missed. To remember him, we are shaving our heads to raise money for St. Baldrick's.
Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
