The Jen's Ducks team was founded in Loving Memory of Jennifer Accardo. Jen was diagnosed at age 14 and through her 6-year battle with this dreadful disease she became and continues to be an inspiration to all who knew her. She was an active member of the Northport St Baldrick’s committee and we are proud to continue her passion of fundraising for St Baldrick's in the hope of someday soon finding the cure to the disease that took her away from us at such a young age. Jen is representative of all kids fighting cancer, they are just like everyone else and want nothing more than to be "normal". Our team logo is actually a picture drawn by Jen while in grade school of her favorite stuffed animal, and reflects her love of Ducks. Sadly, many pediatric cancers are still difficult to cure and children continue to die, one of every 5 children diagnosed will not survive 5 years. Jennifer would have celebrated her 26th Birthday just 3 days before this year's event, but rather than having her by our side we can only be inspired by her spirit shaving our heads in loving memory of Jen to raise much needed funding. The St Baldrick's Foundation is our best hope to see that these kids get to live a normal life through their funding of the most promising research specific to pediatric cancer, Please support our team, and Jen's Memory, with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Please help us with a donation in any amount you can afford and help fund the research needed to ensure better outcomes for these brave kids Thank you!
