There are certain people you encounter who leave an everlasting impression on your life. Sam was one of those people. A scholar, athlete, Eagle Scout, and talented musician, he made the most of everything, and spread his love both broadly and deeply. His courage, strength, and love were only magnified when he was diagnosed with a rare cancer (desmoplastic small round cell tumors) at the age of 18.

His rare disease required experimental treatments, some of which benefited through funding from the St. Baldrick's foundation. He supported St. Baldrick's events in the Portland area during his treatments, and would be attending this year as well if he was still with us.

Besides raising money to support cancer research, St.Baldrick's is an event that brings people together for hope and support during difficult times. Thank you for your interest and involvement, it means so much.

With infinite love and memories, we celebrate the life of Sam Marx.

We have answered the call to be heroes! We've teamed up to have our heads shaved – to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

Please support us with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when we ask for your support, we're really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
