On April 14th the Loras College Baseball Program will participate in their 1st even BaseBald event at Petrakis Park following the days doubleheader with Coe College. 40 student-athletes have taken the pledge to shave their heads to save lives in support of fighting childhood cancer.
In addition to our student-athletes the Loras College Athletic Staff and Campus Community has individuals who have agreed to participate at certain monetary levels to add as an incentive to donate to this great cause. Each of these individuals will become a shavee once their monetary level has been achieved.
They are:
$1,000-Strength & Conditioning Coach Josh Edwards and Loras Baseball Coaching Staff (Tebon, Wellik, Tuescher, Waddle, and Kirk)
$1,500-Assistant Soccer Coach Matt Pucci and Assistant Football Coach Rob Goode
$2,000-Women’s Basketball Coach Justin Heinzen and Assistant Football Coach Brent O’Brien
$2,500-Head Men’s & Women’s Soccer Coach Dan Rothert and Head Wrestling Coach Randy Steward
$3,000-Sports Information Director Jon Denham and Equipment Manager Jeff Kilburg
$3,500-Director of Athletics Bob Quinn
$4,000-Vice President for Student Development
A special thank you to these individuals for volunteering their hair and their time.
We have answered the call to be heroes! We've teamed up to have our heads shaved – to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Please support us with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when we ask for your support, we're really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
