On Saturday, March 3rd, We will shave our heads to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation for Children's Cancer. This is our 4th year raising money for Kids with Cancer. This summer we took a trip to "Camp Cartwheel". It's a beautiful camp hidden in a canyon about 45 minutes outside Las Vegas run by the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. This a place where kids with all forms of cancer can be a kid for the week. They have a lake, activities and more. It looks like a camp that healthy kids would love. As we toured the camp, the kids were happy to see all the DJ's from the radio station. Many frail, many in remission, some in pain but you wouldn't know it when you saw the smiles on their faces. As we went back by the cabins where most of the kids stay, (the very sick ones gets bussed in and out for the day) there was one cabin that housed the medicine and treatment area for the kids. Watching young kids come in and out to recieve their daily treatments was heart breaking. Most of these beautiful children sport bald heads from chemotherapy. Just knowing the pain and battle they are fighting can bring tears to your eyes. Yet they have the greatest attitude of anyone you will run across. It really puts things in perspective. When you think about how bad your days is, keep these kids in mind. Yeah...we really don't have many problems...do we? These kids are the beneficiaries of your donations! Since St. Baldrick's started, the 10 year survival rate for kids with cancer has gone from 20% to over 60%! So often we forget our blessings until we sit down and really reflect on them. So we are asking you to make a donation. We'll take $5, $10, $100 or more. It is all going to help kids with cancer...and that's good enough for us! Thank you for your time! FYI...feel free to share our page.
