Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

National Partner

Team Brett 2025

Brett was diagnosed at the age of 11 with an aggressive form of brain cancer called Anaplastic Astrocytoma. Brett went through unimaginable suffering during his 3½ year fight against this relentless disease. He endured 7 weeks of proton radiation, 5 different forms of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, 6 brain surgeries, several blood transfusions, countless hospital visits, scans, tests and needle sticks. Despite the outstanding treatment he received at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, Brett passed away on January 10, 2018. He was 14 years old and a freshman at Bishop DuBourg High School. Brett spent the last weeks of his life confined to a wheelchair and then to his bed.

Please support our team with a donation to save lives. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research, but donations have been down sharply since the pandemic. Let’s make sure kids know we have their back. Please give generously, to give kids with cancer the long, healthy lives they deserve. Thank you!
