Welcome to our SAFD team page!
We have once again answered the call to be heroes for children with cancer! So "Grow Out That Fro! And then Go Bald for a Cause!
This year our SAFD (San Antonio Fire Department) team will be honoring the young boy many of you met at last year's event, Reid. Reid's father, Ruben, is one of our brothers, a Lieutenant for Bulverde Fire Department. Reid's parents also founded the Little Fighter Foundation, an organization that works closely with our brotherhood and community assisting families and children afflicted with childhood cancer.
The event will be held on Saturday March 8th at 11am.
This team is for both SAFD and our family and close friends who would like to join with us as we help fight childhood cancer. So start growing out those locks and start fundraising to shave it all off for a great cause once again. Firefighter special rate of $20 fundraising minimum and all others $50 minimum. T-shirts are being arranged and are planned to be first come first serve on event day. Please sign up with best contact email and you will be emailed with updates.
St. Baldrick's is a volunteer based charity that provides more funding for childhood cancer research than any other organization besides the US govt! Last year our SAFD teams alone, the largest at the event consisting of almost 60 shavees, fundraised $13,721! That’s not to mention the donations that were collected event day that went directly into the event fundraiser. A couple days prior to the event two of our SAFD went on FOX Morning Show and shaved live. That day alone the main event fundraiser increased by $6,000!
The San Antonio St. Baldrick’s event fundraised for childhood cancer research a total of
$59,924!
Lets make it another year to remember and show the force of our brotherhood in action once again.
