Team Sparticus' Message to YOU!

We have answered the call to be heroes! We've teamed up to have our heads shaved – to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.

Seriously, that's the opening line St. Baldricks writes if you simply sign up to help. Hero? Not really. (I know, some may have even better descriptors, but I digress...) Just an ordinary person, doing ordinary things, to help raise money for a great cause. I'm certainly no hero.

Unfortunately, my before and after pictures may be similar, so I apologize! I guess that's the downside of being follicle-ly challenged. Mostly, I'm hoping for some volunteers to join my team that have hair! (And even if you don't, join anyway!) I plan to donate my time and help the Sorges who graciously decided to branch out on their own and run their own event. I will donate my time and money to this great cause. I'm also debating to see if I can grow my hair out to have it shaved on May 3, so stick with me on that. I mean really, try living with a head of hair like mine on a daily basis. I actually feel refreshed after shaving my head. The thought of trying to grow it out scares me more! But think of what some of these kids have to go through!

I don't think the Sorges know what's in store for them, which is just as well. Actually, I'm not even sure I know what's in store. I am totally out of my comfort zone. But the way I see it, kids affected by cancer have no choice in being out of their comfort zone. So, overall it's a small price to pay in order to help them.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 and to do that, we'll need warm bodies (that's where I come in) to help organize the event. I will pretty much be doing whatever Pat and Tracy tell me do (Oh, let's hope that doesn't go to their head...they've been waiting for something like this!), so I won't be winning any Apprentice awards. I don't think they can fire me, either, as I'm sort of like Kramer on Seinfeld. Sorry, we'll have to let you go...and what will make it so awkward is I don't even work here! Wish us luck!

So, Please donate to a great cause! As a fiscal conservative you have no idea how difficult it is for me to ask for donations. I wouldn't normally do such a thing, but I will remind you that your donation is tax deductable. (That's the conservative in me...)

This is my team page, but I also have a special message if you click my name in blue at the top of this page you are on now and read my personal message on my individual account. Feel free to donate to my "Team" (it all goes to the same place) or sponser me directly, but if you'd like me to work for it (and I'm okay with that...), then visit my individual page!

Thank you God Bless!
