I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Thank you for checking out my St. Baldrick's Day webpage.  This will be the 6th year I raise funding for childhood cancer research through this amazing foundation.  This year I am fundraising in honor of Luke O. of Lafayette, LA, an energetic 2 year old with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).  I don't know Luke personally, but I was touched by his story, as I always am by stories like his.  Like any kid, Luke had his normal bumps and bruises, but one day what started as a routine doctor visit turned into a life-changing diagnosis.  He has been fighting courageously ever since.  I admire that courage, but I hope for a day when kids can just be kids, instead of fighters.

As always, I am fundraising as part of the St. Baldrick's Day event at Finn McCool's Irish Pub in Mid-City New Orleans.  Unfortunately, this year I'll be out of town on March 21st so I'll miss the party.  But you should still go!  In just a few years the event at Finn's has grown from a few crazies in barber chairs raising a couple thousand dollars to a rocking block party raising over a hundred thousand.  I will have to shave when I get back to town (maybe you can help!) so you should go have fun on my behalf.

Cancer has affected many people in my life, as I'm sure it has affected many in yours.  Whether you know someone who has fought this disease, or are a survivor yourself, or just want to make a difference, I hope you will help us find a cure.  You can make a donation, help spread the word, or just go to Finn's to show your support.  Thank you in advance.
