I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Striving for More

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Striving for More

I am shaving hy head again this year in honor and in memory of Colleen, my youngest, who pased away in 2008 due to complications from bone cancer. Colleen endured many painful procedures and treatments as do thousands of kids every day. This event is one of the ways in which my family can find some meaning in Colleen's ordeal and in our loss -- by fighting childhood cancer. Please help fight childhood cancer by donating to St Baldrick's. Last year they provided over 21 million dollars in grants to fund research into cures and to improve the quality of life for childhood cancer patients. The only institution that raises more money for this type of research is the Federal Government. In addition to shaving my head, Diane and I will also be making a significant contribution to St Baldricks. Even though Diane has started her own foundation to improve psychosocial care for children with cancer in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area (Striving4More.org), this is one of the charities we continue to support. Every dollar helps. Thank you for your donation.
