I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. I've been fortunate to not have any immediate family affected by cancer, but I have had friends affected by cancer. Two years ago I organized a St. Baldrick's Event at my school and this year I am helping out to ensure our good work continues! I've been so blessed and fortunate that I felt the need to give back. I got involved in high school when one my teachers child passed away from childhood cancer. Two years ago I had the honor and privilege of being one of the organizers of the event and this year I'm able to focus on increasing awareness and funds. At some point everyone's lives will be touched by cancer. As health care providers I came into school wanting to make a difference and HERE IS MY CHANCE!
I look at it this way, if you're not making someone else's life better, because you're here than what's the point?
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. I think of it this way, if you're on this Earth and you're not making a difference, than what's the point? So stand together with me and make a difference in the lives of children everywhere. Even if everyone just donated a few dollars, we would be so much better off! Thank you!
