Dear Reader,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to share something incredibly meaningful to me and, I believe, vital to countless children battling cancer: St. Baldrick's.
On April 4, 2024, I will be shaving my head as part of the St. Baldrick's Shave For The Brave initiative. Why? Because I firmly believe that your donation "on my head" will directly contribute to saving lives.
This cause is deeply personal to me. My own mother fought a courageous battle against cancer. Witnessing her resilience amidst the hardest battle of her life left a lasting imprint on my heart and identity. 7 months ago, on August 16th, 2023, my mom passed away after three years of battling stage 4 lung cancer. Though she's no longer with us, her spirit fuels my determination to make a difference in the lives of those still fighting.
The reality is clear: kids fighting cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick's stands as the largest non-governmental funder of childhood cancer research grants. However, the ongoing pandemic left a severe blow to donations, slowing down the critical progress towards finding cures.
It's a heartbreaking fact that cancer claims more young lives than any other disease. But there's hope in research. With each donation, we get closer to transforming despair into hope, sickness into health, and grief into triumph.
I refuse to stand by and let these courageous kids down. Together, we can make a tangible difference in their lives and futures.
So, can I count on your support? Your contribution, no matter the size, will be a beacon of hope for children and families fighting the battle of their lives.
Thank you from the depths of my heart for considering this appeal. Together, let's be the change these children so desperately need.
With profound gratitude,
Trey
