I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

You can can continue reading to see how important my daughter is to me and how important the resarch has been to her, but you can just click on the video link above. Or you can do both, which is probably the best choice. First, the not-personal: Participants in a St. Baldrick's event shave their heads in exchange for donations towards research. Efforts fund research & bald heads are a display of solidarity with kids who have cancer. St. Baldrick's funds more childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. Government. And now, the personal: my 5 year old daughter is a two-time cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with Wilms' tumor, on both kidneys, when she was 7 months old. She had surgery and chemotherapy and got all better. Then right before she turned 3, it was back. She went through surgery again, plus radiation and high-powered chemo. She's now 20 months off treatment and her scans all say "NED" -- No Evidence of Disease.
