I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team O'Steen

If you are on my St. Baldrick's web page for the first time, you've probably seen my bald head and have asked me "Why are you bald?". As a St. Baldrick's participant, I worked to raise money for childhood cancer research. Then I shaved my head to show support for the children who typically lose their hair during cancer treatment. This was my 4th year as a participant and since 2008, Team O'Steen has raised more than $5000. Shaving my head is a fun way to raise money for a very important cause. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation has made more than 250 grants totaling over $55 million for childhood cancer research since 2005, its first year as a foundation. In 2010 alone, they gave over $14 million – that’s more in grants for childhood cancer research than any other organization except the U.S. government. Dr. Craig Castellino’s research at Emory University has been a recipient since 2009. While you're on the website, I urge you to look around, read some of the children's stories and look at where the money goes. You can donate to St. Baldrick's Foundation any time of the year. Again, thank you for all your support and interest. Ann O'Steen
