I have worked at St. Louis Children's Hospital for almost 2 years now and have seen the effects of cancer on children and their families. It can be a devastating diagnosis, and as a nurse, I believe I can make a difference as they move forward in their treatment. Each and every child and family I care for are special to me. I absolutely love what I do and want to make a difference this year, to raise awareness, and help find a cure for childhood cancer! Every dollar raised goes directly to the volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
I have decided to honor a very special person that I got to know pretty well this last summer when traveling to Branson with Operation Liftoff, his name is Trevor. Trevor is extremely funny, loving, caring, and possibly the strongest person I have ever had the opportunity to meet. He is 16 years old and has a twin sister. He has had an extremely long and complicated battle with Hodgkins Lymphoma. It's because of teens like Trevor that I am shaving my head this year in hopes of finding a cure!
Thank you!
