I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Mizfits

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Mizfits

Why am I shaving my head at the Growler in honor of Sara Beth B.?
...Because I'm a Mom
...Because I would want someone to help my child if they had cancer
...Because Sara Beth B. deserves to live a full healthy life into adulthood
...Because I'm a Mizfit, and Pirates are fighters. And I want to fight childhood cancer with St. Baldrick's.
...Because it's only hair.

So WHY should you donate? Because you can make a positive impact with just a few bucks!

-Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. In the US 1 in 5 will not survive.
-$500 will fund 20 hours of research to improve the patient or survivor's quality of life.
-$1000 will help treat a child on a clinical trial, often their best hope for a cure.
-Since St. Baldrick’s began, the 5-year survival rate has risen from about 79% to 85%
-There are still cancers no child survives. And survival isn’t the same as a cure. Many kids are still in treatment 5 years after diagnosis or die after that milestone.

You and I are not here to give kids 5 more years. We’re in this to #GiveKidsALifetime.

Why St Baldrick’s?
Because they are the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants.
