Dear Deans, Faculty, Students, Family, and Friends,
No child should ever have to be given a diagnosis of cancer. Young children with cancer have not even had their chance at living life before they are forced to fight for it. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease.
Last year I was lucky enough to spend the day with an amazing little boy named Bayler Teal. He loved fire trucks, chocolate strawberries, and playing with his toys…things any 6 year old would love to do. And he had the cutest southern accent you could ever imagine! His spirit and energy were contagious and you could not help but smile when around him; unfortunately Bayler had Neuroblastoma, a malignant tumor that develops from nerve tissue. He passed away this past June.
I will never forget Bayler.
If possible please consider donating whatever you can to the St. Baldrick's Foundation, the world's largest volunteer-driven fundraising event for childhood cancer research. I am shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment and am doing so in memory of Bayler. Please consider donating to this worthy cause. You'll be doing a great thing to help raise critical funds for childhood cancer research and all donations are tax-deductible!
By making a donation to support childhood cancer research, you will be helping scientists who are working night and day to find a cure for this despicable illness. I am not ok with just standing by and waiting for others to do something. We have to do something. Please help. Anything you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,

P.S.- If anyone is interested in participating by shaving their head as well. Please e-mail me with a telephone number at which I can contact you and I can provide you with any information you need. It’s really easy!
