Last year (2010) I came home from a visit with family - I have 6 nephews and a niece - and I began thinking of how fortunate my family is that the children are happy and healthy. When I sat down to my computer, an email came through looking for volunteers to participate in a local St. Baldrick's Day event at Siena College where I work. I'd never heard of the foundation before, so on a whim I decided to volunteer as a shavee. I didn't think it through too carefuly - and if you are thinking about it, I recommend that you stop that and just sign up! If I ever started to fret and second guess meself, I kept saying, "Its for research to end childhood cancer!" I also frequently thought of the health of family members, and the strength needed in families with children suffering from childhood cancer.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
