I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Trilogy Monarch Dunes

Hi family and friends,

I’m shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research with Trilogy Monarch Dunes. The reason I decided to shave my head with St. Baldrick’s is your donation “on my head” will actually save lives.

Cancer is a life-threatening disease. I lost my father early in life to bone cancer, my mother was a survivor of lung cancer, and close mentor friend, who motivated me to become a teacher, to bone cancer at the age of 37. As a teacher, I knew children who were diagnosed with cancer and survived. I also have several close friends who are survivors of breast cancer. So in support of all of you, my heart has spoken to me to step out of my box, and support a cause.

Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures.

Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease. Research can change that, and I don’t want to let these kids down. Having taught for 18 years as a 4th grade teacher and long-term sub, I value the well-being of kids. Now that I’m retired, I want to continue to support the lives of kids. Can you help me in this cause? Your donation will be appreciated more than you know. Bless you and thank you!
