I am shaving to raise money for childhood cancer research

I am shaving to raise money for childhood cancer research

Oh, hi! Yeah, it’s me again. :) First and foremost, let me start by saying that I *will* be shaving my head again in 2025! But if you’ve been around, you probably already know what that means…it means I’m looking to raise a much heftier amount of money for my annual St. B’s fundraising adventure (as opposed to my more reasonable goals in recent, no-shave years). My goal for the 2.14.25 shave date is a bit of a lofty one…$2,646.00.

I know that sounds like an almost impossibly high/unachievable goal but hear me out for a sec…

I’ve been involved in fundraising efforts for St. Baldrick’s since 2016, and that’s looked a little like, well, this:

2016: $2,225.00

2017: $4,225.00

2018: $4,300.00

2019: $700.00

2020: $1,070.00

2021: $2,584.00

2022: $704.00

2023: $731.00

2024: $815.00

…A GRAND TOTAL OF $17,354.00 IN NINE YEARS! <3

If I’m able to meet my goal of $2,646.00…my cumulative total raised will hit the 20K mark exactly.

$20,000.00 for kids’ cancer research in ten years, y’all! All because of the kindness & generosity of YOU! <3

I’ll never, ever, ever be able to express my gratitude or describe how much this means to me. I mean, seriously...I know the most amazing people. Ever. <3

That being said, my goal for the 2025 event (2.14.25) is set at a permanent $2,646.00. I usually keep my annual goal at several hundred, but I don’t shave every year. And after 2025, I won’t be shaving again for a long-ass time again so my future goals will be dropping down into much more realistic realms.

Childhood cancer is an absolute beast.

Most of you already know I'm a a mom of five amazing kids, one of whom is a Shaken Baby Syndrome Survivor. Due to her medically fragile condition, we tend to be "frequent flyers" at our local children's hospital and we've seen these unspeakably brave fighters firsthand, enduring things no child should *ever* have to endure. But did you also know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is *extremely* underfunded (only 4% of federal government cancer research funding goes to children--FOUR PERCENT). Ugh. Four percent, you guys. I mean...only four percent? My heart can't reconcile that amount. It just can't.

Now I need your help! Will you please consider making a donation? Every single dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Please consider donating, and please spread the word.

Thanks for always having my back and supporting me. Y’all know how incredibly PUMPED I get when a new donation pops up. But, like, for REALLY real. It is like a straight shot of dopamine. F*ck cancer, for really real. Together, we are changing the face of cancer research, one dollar at a time.

With my love & gratitude to all,

Courtney <3 xo
