I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Oh, hi! Yeah, it’s me again. :) First and foremost, let me start by saying that I am NOT SHAVING this year. I’m actually not planning to shave again anytime in the foreseeable future, but I do still want to stay involved with St. Baldrick’s in terms of fundraising. Just want to be totally transparent about that. Fundraising: Yes. Head shaving: No. :)

That being said…

I’ve been involved in fundraising efforts for St. Baldrick’s since 2016, and that’s looked a little like…

2016: $2,225.00

2017: $4,225.00

2018: $4,300.00

2019: $700.00

2020: $1,070.00

2021: $2,584.00

2022: $704.00

2023: $731.00

…A GRAND TOTAL OF $16,539.00 IN EIGHT YEARS! <3

I’ll never, ever, ever be able to express my gratitude or describe how much this means to me. I mean, seriously...I know the most amazing people. Ever. <3

That being said, my goal for the 2024 event (1.1.24) is set at a permanent $430 (I turn 43 on November 5, 2023 so it seems fitting :).

Childhood cancer is an absolute beast.

Most of you already know I'm a a mom of five amazing kids, one of whom is a Shaken Baby Syndrome Survivor. Due to her medically fragile condition, we tend to be "frequent flyers" at our local children's hospital and we've seen these unspeakably brave fighters firsthand, enduring things no child should *ever* have to endure. But did you also know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is *extremely* underfunded (only 4% of federal government cancer research funding goes to children--FOUR PERCENT). Ugh. Four percent, you guys. I mean...only four percent? My heart can't reconcile that amount. It just can't.

Now I need your help! Will you please consider making a donation? Every single dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Please consider donating, and please spread the word...

Thanks for always having my back and supporting me. Y’all know how incredibly PUMPED I get when a new donation pops up. It’s an absolute privilege to “donate” my birthday to St. Baldrick’s. So many kids don’t get the chance to see their 43rd year of life, you know? F*ck cancer, for really real. What a thief.

With my love & gratitude to all,

Courtney <3 xo
