Why am I shaving my head with St. Baldrick’s? Because your donation “on my head” will actually save lives.
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. Kids with cancer need our support now more than ever. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations, slowing down the progress to find cures.
Cancer kills more of our kids than any other disease.
I'm going to lay out some staggering statistics for you:
Every 2 minutes a child will be diagnosed with cancer.
On top of that, 1 in 5 of those kids will die.
Research can change that, and I don’t want to let these kids down.
Pediatric cancer affects everyone. If you don't personally know someone, chances are your friends do. As a new mom, I can now start to empathize more with the fear that a parent must have when they hear their child has cancer.
This year, for my 5th annual shave, I am determined to hit a cumulative mark of $20,000 raised for St. Baldrick's. In the last four years, I have raised a total of $17,710, so a little under $2,500 to go! Let's get started!
To make this year even more fun, I'm traveling to Louisiana to shave!! I've been invited down to the Bald on the Bayou event as a guest shavee for their 10th annual event. I'll also have a crazy pre-shave hairdo IF I reach my goal!!
Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Thank you for your generosity!!
