Guys!!! Your help is needed! As some of you may know, my cousin Olivia was diagnosed with osteosarcoma February 2017. Thankfully, Olivia has completed treatment and her second scan was clear! However, it is extremely sad to report that treatment for this rare cancer that targets growing teens has not changed in the past 40 years. In the cancer world, osteosarcoma is the largest death by disease for 10-20 year olds. 40 years without any type of breakthrough or hopeful change in protocol is unacceptable. My Uncle Michael, Olivia's father, founded the Osteosarcoma Collaborative with the goal of finding a cure. Last year, they raised (thanks to many of you) an amazing $300,000.00 at a St. Baldrick's Brave the Shave event solely for osteosarcoma research. This year they are taking it up a notch, to say the least. The Ostoasarcoma Collaborative has teamed with St Baldrick's Foundation to raise $1.5 million for a single research grant. The event is June 10th. All funds raised, in addition to last year's $300,000.00 will fund the start of path-breaking research in the next few months. The RFP for the osteosarcoma grant went out to 950 medical researchers last week and has created quite the buzz! Please help us raise money for this grant. My sister Regina and I are leading an O'Connell Knights team for this event. Copy this link and feel free to post/share/tweet/insta it.
