I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

All my life I have had to endure family and friends struggling with cancer. I've lost almost all of my family to cancer. With all of the death and destruction cancer causes I was not aware of how much one little girl would affect me.

Her name was Jorianne (We called her Jewlery) and she was adopted by a couple of my teachers. They could not have kids and tried for years and opted to adopt. She was a beautiful little girl about the age of my daughter now. A few years after being adopted by this wonderful loving family she was diagnosed with cancer. Watching as her condition ravaged her and how the sweet child changed over her last year is something I will never forget and still affects me to this day.

With all of my family that has died from cancer which is an astronomical amount, nothing was like watching a child go through this. So with the few precious hairs I have left on my head I am going to become a Shavee. Help the cause, do some good in this world for a total stranger, and hopefully my daughter and our children will see a world where no other child dies from cancer.

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
