Owen is shaving his head to raise money for childhood cancer research to support his friend Brennan and other kids with cancer!
Owen has been a Team Brennan member since the very beginning. The profile picture you see for Owen's St. Baldrick's page was taken at the Bermuda Relay for Life in 2016 when Owen went to walk the event's opening laps with his class to support Brennan, who was just beginning his treatment. Owen walked those two laps and then just kept going for hours. I had to pull him off of the track to eat and get a water refill and then finally had to pull him off to go home to bed. He then insisted we return to walk the next day...and the next day. In his mind (as a 5-year old at the time), he quantified the length of time that he spent walking that track with how much he was supporting his friend.
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So he decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
