I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

A wise, brave, girl named Lula, while in the hospital fighting cancer at the age of 10, was watching something about child trafficking on TV. In light of what she just saw, she turned to her mom and said, “See Momma, I’m one of the lucky ones.” I heard this story two days before requests for volunteers for this St. Baldrick's fundraiser. This raw compassion, empathy and love in the face of the unimaginable as a child hit me hard. I realized if she could understand that and fight so courageously, then, I could handle the discomfort of being bald for a few weeks to help kids like her. Every dollar counts. If you have a spare $1, $5 or 10 and feel inclined, together we can help continue funding research to find cures for these heartbreaking conditions caused by childhood cancers in her memory.
