Zack is 5 years old… He loves taking swim lessons, going to birthday parties and watching Paw Patrol with his twin brother, Teddy. Zack, however, is also battling leukemia for the second time in his short, little life.
Zack is the son of MaryPat Caldwell, a member of the Greenwich Public Schools community and our colleague in Special Education. In honor of Zack and his struggle, which has included trips to Boston Children’s Hospital for “heavy” chemo treatments and a bone marrow transplant from his brother Teddy (the “unsung hero”), members of the Central Middle School Special Education Department will be participating in a St. Baldrick’s fundraiser at Western Middle School on March 15, 2018 at 6:30pm.
I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
