I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research!
Research has brought us so far - in the 1950s almost all kids diagnosed with cancer died. But because of research, nearly 90% of kids with the most common cancer will survive. HOWEVER, even for kids who survive, the battle is not over.
A recent study shows that because of the treatments they had as kids, by the time they’re 45, more than 95% of survivors will have a chronic health problem and 80% will have severe or life-threatening conditions.
So in addition to finding cures, a lot of research is focused on preventing the lifelong damage that results from surgeries, radiation and chemotherapies given while young bodies and brains are just developing.
Childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. I will also be donating ALL 30 inches of my hair to Wigs for Kids!
Now I need your help!
Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
