I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Long School of Medicine Students

I am a big fan of Kickstarter so if you donate a certain amount I will incentivize it with the following (you will receive all the prizes before it):

$5 Shoutout
$10 Infamously warm and cozy Vinh-Son Hug
$25 Cute Baby Pic of myself
$50 I will write you a personal poem or haiku
$100 I will pretend to do a "Humans of..." segment on you. Mini Photoshoot and everything.

My Story:
Ever since I stopped crying while getting haircuts (about two years ago...lol jk), I have been known for my illustrious hair. Whether you remember my sunshade style, helmet hair, hi-top fade, lion mane, or perfect wave comb over, my hair has been an integral part of my identity. Throughout all my life I had a choice of what my hair looked like, but some kids don't!

Getting involved with UTSA's For the Kids Dance Marathon for three years of undergrad was a life-changing experience. From the fashion shows to the dance marathon to the zumba fundraisers, our goal was to remind children what it meant to be a kid: carefree, running around, joyous.

This past year I had the chance to go to Vietnam with a group of Pediatric Hem/Onc healthcare professionals. Our goal was to improve the quality of care for these kids by adjusting programs and educational infrastructure. But during my time there, I saw the same thing. Kids who didn't have a choice. No one asks to lose their hair. No one asks for their life to be changed so drastically. No one asks their family to sell all of their worldly possessions just to afford chemotherapy. But because I have a choice, I choose to shave my head in solidarity for those who dont.

Please consider donating to the fundraiser and come out March 10th to support those who have beaten or are still fighting childhood cancers!
