I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Baldfellows

Frankly, I started this effort as a lark. A friend announced an opportunity to raise funds for Childhood Cancer Research and I said to myself, "Why not, who would notice if I shave my already short hair." Then I started to do some research about St. Baldrick's and discovered that, worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every two seconds; that one in every 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer; that an adult diagnosed with cancer loses 15 years of expected life - a child loses 71 years of expected life, that childhood cancer requires special treatment different from adult treatment, that 20% of children's cancer deaths could be prevented if they simply received appropriate childhood cancer treatment rather than adult cancer treatment. The consequences are just so heartbreaking I decided to do my part.

Please join me in raising funds for childhood cancer research so that children diagnosed with cancer (and their families) can have better outcomes. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
