I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Here is a brief summary of River's battle, hope my interruption does it just.
Someone told this to me, and I needed it to be captured right here, "There is no “brief” history for River, because he never read the book, he was the epitome of Murphy’s Law." Joscelyn Lawrence, River's Mother!
River was diagnosed with Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma on November 23rd, 2014, His tumor had the volume of a basketball but wasn't attached to any major organs.
He had 5 rounds of chemo, a partial tumor resection, stem cell rescue then 24 rounds of radiation. Surgery was the only therapy to lessen his tumor burden, but chemo cleared his bone marrow early on.
He gave the world a couple more good years/months, but on June 15th, 2017 he succumbed to another infection, and died at home in his mother's arms.
For being 5, River touched more lives than most adults ever will, he is an honorary FDNY firefighter, as well as full sworn in FF for, Converse Fire Department.
River was best friends with Chief Hood from San Antonio Fire Department and so many close relationships with firefighters from multiple departments across the country!
I asked you, we asked you "Fire and Iron M/C, Station 52, Bexar County, Texas" to donate and help stop this from happening again! He is one of our brothers in need, it's what we do! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
