I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: The Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center

Hello everyone! Why would I shave my head?

I'm shaving my head to support the brave kids, their families, and the Aflac Team who pours their heart and soul into caring for them every day (Cancer and Hematology/Sickle Cell). I've had the honor of meeting some of the bravest patients and some of the most dedicated nurses, techs, providers, and support teams that you will find anywhere. If you want to see an example of the kind of courage I am talking about, here is one example out of many: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1gIscr8VaE How does me shaving my head help? Although there is a perception out there that tons of money is funneled into pediatric cancer research, the truth is that pediatric cancers are different from adult cancer. Many are quite rare across the globe, but being rare does not help fund research. Every child deserves a lifetime--no family deserves to watch their child go through cancer treatment. I have personally seen the hope that new therapies and research bring to these families. Please donate--it's a worthy cause--and surely worth it to see my bald head! Heather
