Dear Friends and family,
It is my favorite time of year, St. Baldrick’s season! St. Baldrick’s is second, only to the US Government, in research dollars spent on childhood cancer. I find this statement powerful and surprising. Less than 4% of federal funding is dedicated to pediatric cancer. The St. Baldrick Foundation has been critical in providing funds for families, hospitals, researchers, research grants and for specialists in training. I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Green, a pediatric oncologist at Children’s Hospital Colorado on a St. Baldrick’s sponsored visit. Dr. Green has been a recipient of our donations and is doing amazing work on an aggressive brain cancer. It was fascinating to tour his lab, discuss his study, learn about the process and how St. Baldrick’s has impacted his research.
My mind is blown away at how we have grown from raising under $3000 in 2008, to over $6,000 in 2017. Together we have raised a total of $39,410. I am humbled by your generosity and your continued support of me and this cause. And if you ask my wife Laura, making me humble is HUGE! When I first participated in 2008, my goal was to raise a few dollars and help if I could. Over the years, this has become a passionate and meaningful cause for me. Cancer can affect anyone at any time and a child is the most vulnerable and innocent victim of all. I am happy and grateful to know that I am doing my best to help find a cure. Let’s change the future! If you are able to contribute, please visit my page and join me in this effort. Thank you, thank you!
Sincerely,
Gil Adamowski
